Twenty years ago we lived under a dictatorship. We were tyrannized, tortured, and tormented. Many people were put in jail for resisting the government, chased from their homes, or hanged. During this time there was so much bloodshed and many eyes were swimming with tears. Justice did not mean anything here.
In the history of my country, none of the recent leaders have been righteous men. With all the wealth we own, we shouldn’t be underdeveloped. How much funding has been stolen? So much! Nothing is regulated. For forty-eight years we have not seen any changes, only tears in eyes. Young people are suffering more deeply, and time is passing quickly. Everyday we see a new government that wants to prove that it is better than the others. People say, “Am I crazy to doubt these words?” Not at all!
In the government offices, they don’t hire clever people. They choose their brothers and friends, people from their “tribe,” instead of the most qualified people. This means that in my country brotherhood equals segregation. I have to make the world understand that my country is not only for the Moors, but also for my people. Life is so easy when people are united, but here corruption is “grown up” and truth is buried in the deepest earth.
How many times have they made promises to us about our life conditions – finding solutions to reduce the price of goods and improving the education system? But none of them have kept their promises. It is always empty promises. They all have the same minds and words, these politicians. Everywhere they go they talk about justice, but in fact they don’t know what that means. Why aren’t the people allowed to tell the truth? Where is the freedom of thought, civil liberty, liberty, equality and fraternity? All these are drown in the sea forever.
